Vineyards: Sheltered by the highest peaks of the Vosges Mountains, the Rouffach region enjoys a continental climate. Clos St. Landelin is a 12 ha Monopole owned by the Muré family. It was planted in the 7th century by monks. Certified Biodynamic. 45+ year old steep hillside vines face south. Clay and limestone soil with man stones. Calcareous sandstone subsoil with galets.
Winemaking: Grapes were hand-picked on October 11th in 20kg boxes to protect the delicate flavors and preserve freshness. The must is slowly fermented in neutral wood casks using only wild yeasts. 9 months on lees in stainless with regular stirrings. 2.45 gms/L RS. 500 cases produced.
